Welcome to the Elm Grove Soccer Club Website The Elm Grove Soccer Club (EGSC) is a volunteer organization dedicated to youth soccer, encouraging good sportsmanship, physical fitness, team play, a positive self-image, and the enjoyment of the game.
EGSC Coach Lawrence Named National High School Coach of the Year
Steve Lawrence, an Elm Grove Soccer Club staff coach entering his fourth
year with the club, was named the NSCAA National High School Coach of the
Year at the recent NSCAA Coaches Convention held in Kansas City.
Lawrence was honored for his work with Marquette University High School
after leading the Hilltoppers to an undefeated season that culminated with a
Wisconsin State Championship and a national top five ranking.
“I’m very honored to have been considered for this award. I have been
blessed with being around great soccer players at Marquette High School, as
well as a great coaching staff. Also, I owe a lot to (EGSC Director of
Coaching) Coach Spielmann who has been a great mentor to me as a coach and
player. The development and environment he has provided for me as a
coach at Elm Grove has been instrumental in helping me improve as a coach
each year. I look forward to continue to learn and progress as a
coach!” Lawrence is in his seventh year at MUHS and has helped develop top players in the game. Most recently, this includes EGSC player and Univeristy of Wisconsin-Madison recruit, Joe Naughton.
Several EGSC Players Earn High School Honors Eighteen members of Elm Grove Soccer Club have earned national, regional, state and area honors as high school players for the 2011 season.
