U14 Boys Academy Sing the Blues

U14 Boys at Blues City The U14 Boys Academy team won the Blues City Blowout Soccer Tournament played in Memphis, Tenessee the weekend of March 16-18.

The boys defeated the 23rd and 29th ranked teams in Region III in capturing the championship. Those teams were both ranked #1 in their states - Missisippi and Tennessee. The championship game came down to a shoot-out after two overtimes, with Elm Grove prevailing 4-1.

One of their games was against a team from New Orleans that lost a whole season to hurricane Katrina. Some of the parents said they were still living in trailors until their homes are rebuilt.

The Memphis win follows the team's successful fall schedule that included winning the Fall Premier League title and tournament championships at Danny Cunniff Chicago Wind, Best of the Midwest, and Metro United.
