Brookfield Central Girls Capture Fourth Straight WIAA State Title

Lancers Keep Dynasty Alive, Again

The EGSC salutes the Brookfield Central High School girls soccer team for their 2005 WIAA Division 1 State Championship, won in convincing fashion with a 5-1 victory over Eau Claire Memorial. The championship is the 4th straght D1 title for the Lancers. Like the 2004 season, the team got off to a slow with injuries and a tough schedule contributing to some doubt. From a mid-season lull which found the team sitting with a respectible but non-spectacular 11-2-3 record, the girls pulled together, winning their final 13 games, and rolling through the state tournament to finish with a 24-2-3 record and their 4th consecutive state crown.

Being part of the Elmbrook School District, many boys and girls who are members of the EGSC also play soccer for Brookfield Central and East High Schools. The EGSC is proud to be able to contribute to the success of these local schools.

Once again, our congratulations go out to the Lancers. Well done girls!
