EGSC to Hold Two Tournaments in Spring 2005

The Elm Grove Recreation Committee and the WYSA have given their blessing to the EGSC to split its traditional Memorial Day Tournament into two events in 2005.

Tournament Director John Meser explained that the WYSA, the governing body for all youth soccer in Wisconsin, has decided to hold its State Cup Championship games on the Memorial Day weekend. That means that teams U13 and above that elect to participate in the State Cup would not be able to play in the EGSC's Memorial Day Tournament.

Since the Memorial Day Tournament is a big fundraiser for the club, and a 25 year tradition, club officials have decided to hold the Spring Cup for the older teams, U13 and up.

U12 and younger teams will still play on the Memorial Day weekend, since there would be no conflict with the State Cup.
