Chicago Fire Attends EGSC Tryouts

Fire Representatives Welcome EGSC Players and Families to Youth Development Program

As the initial effort reflecting the new partnership between the MLS Chicago Fire and the Elm Grove Soccer Club, Fire members attended the EGSC's initial day of tryouts to meet and greet players and parents, and welcome them to the Fire's Youth Development Program.

Fire General Manager Peter Wilt, Director of Fire Academy Administration Roland Hahn, and the Fire Juniors Director of Coaching Larry Sunderland all made the trip north to Elm Grove to meet with club officials, and work with Boro Sucevic and other members of the EGSC Pro Coaching Staff during the club's tryouts for the 2004-05 season.

Fire officials were pleased with the club's facilities, and the organization and energy shown by Boro and his staff. They will work with the club throughout the tryout process, and will continue to grow their involvement with the EGSC through summer camps and clinics.

Later this summer, the EGSC will be afforded an opportunity to send a handful of boys and girls with teams from the Chicago Fire Jr's club to Spain to train with and compete against teams from Europe. These are exciting times in Elm Grove!
