Our boy’s showed a lot of class on and off the field, the way they played was a credit to all the hard work they put in leading up to the tournament. They are an outstanding team that will get better as the season goes forward.”

3 WI Teams Recognized at Midwest Regional Championships
This past week Wisconsin Youth Soccer was represented by 15 teams participating in the US Youth Soccer Midwest Regional Championships held in Sioux Falls , SD.   With teams from 14 state associations competing for a berth in the US Youth Soccer National Championships next month, you can bet competition was at the highest level in youth soccer.

Each year teams are evaluated on their sportsmanship, not only by the players on the field but also through the participation of the spectators and the team as a whole.  Wisconsin had three teams awarded the “Fair Play Award” by US Youth Soccer and Region II:  Croatian Eagles U16 boys, Elm Grove Premier U17 boys and Lake Country United U13 girls.

From WYSA President Peter Mariahazy “ Wisconsin Youth Soccer is very proud to have three teams win Fair Play Awards during their participation in the Regional Championships.  This represents the second highest number of teams out of 14 state associations at the event.  We thank the Croatian Eagles, Elm Grove Premier and Lake Country United Teams for their commitment to Fair Play at the highest levels of competition.  This goes to show that quality competitive play and fair play can go together.”

We congratulate all of the Wisconsin State Championship teams and look forward to the 2010 Championships Series beginning again this fall for our U15-U18 girls divisions in Stevens Point !
